Information we collect
We collect only what you choose to send us and a small amount of technical data needed to run the site.
Contact and service request forms
When you use the contact form, or request a service on the Services page, we receive:
- your name and phone number (required);
- your email address (optional);
- a subject (optional) and a message (optional);
- for a service request, the title of the service you selected.
Cart and checkout
The cart lets you collect products and quantities. It is an order request, not a purchase, and the site does not take payments. When you send an order request from checkout, we receive:
- your full name and phone number (required);
- your email address (optional);
- your choice of delivery or pickup, and for delivery your address: street, city, province and postal code;
- notes (optional);
- the contents of your cart: product names, prices, quantities and the estimated total.
We use these details to confirm availability, delivery or pickup, and to prepare an invoice.
Technical data
To keep the cart working and protect forms, the site sets cookies (see below). The site stores your browser session identifier together with the items in your cart. Like most web servers, the hosting environment may also keep standard server logs, such as IP address, date and time, requested page and browser type, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs to profile visitors.
What we do not collect
The site does not ask for payment card or bank details, or any government identification. Please do not include such information in the free-text fields.
Why we collect and how we use it
We use the information to:
- reply to your message or call you about a product or service;
- confirm availability, arrange delivery or pickup, and issue an invoice for your order request;
- keep your cart available while you browse;
- protect the site and its forms against spam and misuse, and fix technical problems;
- meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We collect personal information only for these purposes and, under PIPEDA, rely on your consent, which you give by submitting a form. We do not use the information from these forms for automated decision-making.
Embedded map
The Contacts page shows a map of our address. The map is an embedded Google Maps frame that loads only after you press "Load map". When the frame loads, your browser connects to Google, which may receive your IP address and technical browser information under Google's own privacy policy. We do not control that data. If you prefer not to load the map, do not press the button and use the address above in a mapping tool of your choice.
How long we keep information
- Contact and service requests: for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and a reasonable period afterward for our records.
- Order requests and invoices: for as long as needed to fulfil the order, and for the period required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
- Cart and session data: stored against your browser session so the cart persists between pages. It may be cleared periodically.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
Your privacy rights
Under PIPEDA you may ask to:
- see the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual limits;
- ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To make a request, call us or write to the postal address above, or use the email address shown on our Contacts page, and tell us what you would like. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). This section is a general description and not legal advice.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information sent through this site, including protection of forms against forged requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
Apart from the embedded map and the photo credit links below, this site does not intentionally link to or load third-party services. Their owners are responsible for their own privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be posted on this page.
